After a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease, Alfred Francis Ross passed away peacefully at Clinton Public Hospital, on Saturday, May 26, 2018. In his 82 years among us, Alf lived life with devotion and dedication to his family, his church and the community of Seaforth.

Alf will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Joy (née Jantzi) and their children Joanne (Geoff) Smith, Jane Edwards and Grant (Maureen) Ross. Memories of a very special grandpa remain with grandchildren Steve (Emily) Johnson, Ashley (Neil) Edwards, Eric Edwards, Sarah and Lauren Ross and great grandson Levi Johnson. Alf will also be fondly remembered by his siblings and siblings-in-law Faye Ross, Eric and Linda Ross and Harold Jantzi.

In faith, we trust that Alf’s spirit is reunited in eternal life with his parents Alfred and Vera (née Allan) Ross, siblings June (Doug) Hutchison, Floyd Ross and brother-in-law Ferg Jantzi.

Honouring Alf’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth (519-527-1390) on Thursday, May 31 from 6-9 p.m. A Masonic Lodge Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at Northside United Church, 54 Goderich Street West, on Friday, June 1 from 12-1:45 p.m. followed by a memorial service to honour and celebrate Alf’s life at 2 p.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Private family interment will take place in Staffa Cemetery at a later date.
