Obituary for Elizabeth Van Miltenburg

Elizabeth Van Miltenburg
Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, Elizabeth Van Miltenburg passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Huronview Home For The Aged, Clinton. In her 98 years among us, Elizabeth’s life was an example of love for family, devotion to faith and a strong work ethic that accompanies life on the farm.

Predeceased by her husband Jack (July 1993), Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her children Joanne (Tony) Rombouts, Arnold, John (Mary), Corrine, Mary (Greg) Poweska, Jack (Janet), Ben (Rose), Ed (Sue Anne), Tony, and Linda (Steve) Weber. Memories of a special grandma will be cherished by her 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Elizabeth is also remembered by her only surviving sibling, her sister Corry Vanden Nieuwenhuizen and her husband Theo in Holland and siblings-in-law Johan (Grada) Van Miltenburg and Dora Bouman.Along with her husband Jack, in faith, we trust that Elizabeth’s spirit is reunited in eternal life with granddaughter Hailie, Alicia Rombouts and Elizabeth’s siblings and siblings-in-law.

Visitation will be held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, (519-527-1390) 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Wednesday, June 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. C.W.L. prayers will take place at 1:20 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 1:30 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 22 Victoria Street, Seaforth on Thursday, June 28 at 11 a.m. with Father Clare Coleman presiding. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House or Hamilton Health Science-McMaster Children’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
