Dolly passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital with her family by her side, on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Born in Walton, Ontario, on April 21, 1928, Marian “Dolly” Wilhelmine Hulley (née Steiss) of Seaforth, was in her 91st year.
Beloved wife of the late Eldon Hulley for 34 years (May 22, 1985), and beloved companion of the late George Keyes (April 22, 2017).
Loving mother of Donald (Marjorie) Hulley of Egmondville, Nancy (Gerry) O’Reilly of RR#5 Seaforth, Judy (Cam) McLeod of London, Penny (John) Lansink of Seaforth, Paul (Cathy) Hulley of Seaforth, David Hulley of Seaforth, Doug Hulley of Hensall, Susan (Tony) Arts of Harpurhey and Sandra (Mark) Melady of Seaforth. Cherished grandmother of Brent (April), Jason, Debbie (Ken), Sean (Julie), Brian, Meaghan (Ken), Gerard (Lindsay), Owen (Brett), Colleen, Bridget (Tanner), Julie, Erin (Greg), Caleb (Candice), Shelly (Jamie), Vicki (Adam), Marion (Scott), Sam, Jaclyn (Steve), Daryl, Breanne (Brad), Brittany (Joe), Cole (Laura), Braden, Justin (Jess), Kaitlin, Tabitha, Natasha, Conlan, Keegan, Mackenzie, Meg, and great-grandmother of 38. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Audrey Hackwell and Betty Hulley (Ken Carnochan), as well as her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Daniel and Mary (née Beuerman) Steiss, loving aunt Elizabeth Bolton, her sisters Norma (Orville) Fuller, Berva (Jack) Rutledge and Helen (Casey) Hudson, brothers Clarence (Betty) Steiss, Lorne Steiss and John (Marj) Steiss, brothers-in-law Ken (Betty) Hulley, Don (Karen) Hulley, Howard Hackwell, and by her sister-in-law Maxine (Dick) Marks.
Dolly loved playing cards and yard sales was another past-time of hers.
Visitation will be held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Friday, December 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Seaforth and District Community Centre, 122 Duke St., Seaforth, on Saturday, December 29th from 10 a.m. until the time of Dolly’s funeral service to celebrate her life at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow at the Seaforth Legion, Branch 156, and interment will be taking place at Maitlandbank Cemetery in the spring.
