Loved mother of Brian Oldfield of R.R. #4, Seaforth and friend Helen Southgate. Loving grandmother of Andrew van Vliet of R.R. #1, Walton. Dear mother-in-law of John van Vliet and his wife Susan. Fondly remembered by their children Connor, Shannon, Kiaran and Ronan, all of R.R. #2, Brussels. Lovingly remembered by her sister Donna Mae Hinz of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Dianne van Vliet (2004); parents Joseph and Roma (Diegel) Smith; sisters Kathleen Schwindt and Arbutus MacLean; and brothers-in-law Ervin Schwindt, Ross MacLean, Ron Hinz and Peter Van Herk. Family will receive friends at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Seaforth on Friday, February 5 at 11:00 am. Rev. Karine Farmer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Andrew van Vliet, John van Vliet, Rodney Hinz, Ethan Hinz, Brad MacLean and Bevin MacLean. Honourary pallbearer will be Bill O’Shea. Flower bearers will be Loretta Yeo, Jocelyn Hinz, Connor Jared, Shannon Jared and Matt Southgate. Spring interment Egmondville Cemetery.
